Esther Margaret "Peg" Smith, 91, of Richlandtown formerly of Milford Square died June 5, 2009 in Phoebe Richland Health Care Center. She was the wife of the late William A. Smith, Sr. whom she married in Hollywood in 1942. Born in Germantown, PA she was the daughter of the late William C., Sr. and Esther Mear Sleesman Diehl. Peg was a professional skater and one of the 16 original Ice Capades. She and her late husband William starred in two Ice Capade movies. She had an avid interest in gardening, handwork and painting. She was of the Jehovah Witness Faith. She is survived by two sons William A. of California, and James R. and his wife Robin of Tennessee. Two daughters Michelle of Milford Square, and Deborah Wetzel and her husband Randal of Quakertown. Ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter Joanne and a brother William C. , Jr. and three sisters Ruth Nolan, Helen Guenst, and Coe Sibel. Memorial services will be held on Friday, June 12, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. in the C. R. Strunk Funeral Home, Inc. (www.crstrunk.com) 821 W. Broad St. Quakertown.
