Esther M. Engelman

Esther M. Engelman, 91, of Quakertown died Sunday, May 18, 2008 in Grand View Hospital, Sellersville. She was the wife for 66 years of the late Harry W. Engelman who died on November 14, 2007. Born in Allentown she was the daughter of the late Henry and Annie (Musselman) Bauman. A dairy farmer's wife she worked with her late husband on the Engelman Dairy Farm retiring in 1982. She was also employed by Baringer Brothers Meats for 28 years cleaning pig stomachs retiring in 2003. She was a 4-H leader, and she also received an award for voting in every election for 50 years. She also enjoyed doing word search puzzles. Esther was a member of West Swamp Mennonite Church and had been active with the Women in Missions, and was a former Sunday School Teacher. She also spent many hours quilting at the church and at home, making quilts for each of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by a daughter with whom she resided Elaine Propst and her husband C. Leon of Quakertown, a son Kenneth and his wife Janet of Milford Twp., sister Grace Lininger of Upper Sandusky, OH.; brothers Harvey of Blufton, OH, Raymond of Coopersburg, and Horace of Quakertown; six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son Wilson; a sister Dorothy High and brothers Andrew & Melvin. Services will be held on Friday, May 23, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at West Swamp Mennonite Church 2501 Allentown Rd.
