Edward Zavecz, 90, of Quakertown died Monday, April 30, 2012 in St. Luke's Hospital, Allentown Campus. He was the husband of Regina V. (Janiszewski) Zavecz. Born in Bethlehem, PA he was the son of the late Alex & Fanni (Luca) Zavecz. He was employed by Bethlehem Steel Co. for 43 years as a machinist before retiring. He was a graduate of Liberty High School, Bethlehem. Edward served in the U.S. Army during WW II. He was awarded the Bronze Star during the Battle of the Bulge while with the 35 Division anti tank 134 Infantry, under General Patton's 3rd Army. He was a lifetime member of the Quakertown American Legion Post 242. In addition to his wife he is survived by a son Terrence E. and his wife Donna of Alburtis. Four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He was predeceased by two brothers William and Alex. Services will be held on Friday, May 4, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. in the C. R. Strunk Funeral Home, Inc. (www.crstrunk.com) 821 W. Broad St. Quakertown. Call 10:30-11:00 A.M. in the funeral home.
