Edward Munchberg, 89, of Telford formerly of Trumbauersville died February 26, 2012 at Lutheran Community of Telford. He was the husband of Esther M. (Wonsidler) Munchberg. They were married 56 years in January. Born in Wilkes Barre, Luzerne County he was the son of the late Aleck & Josephine (Dorzinsky) Munchberg. He was a retired state police lieutenant retiring in 1983 after 37 years of service with the Southeastern Pennsylvania region. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. Edward was a member of the Wilkes Barre Fidelity Masonic Lodge #655. A Pearl Harbor survivor Edward served in the U. S. Army during WW II serving during the Pacific Theatre. He was a member of Christ Church of the U.C.C.in Trumbauersville. In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter Joy K. Caldwell and her husband Thomas of South Carolina. Two brothers Albert of Cape May, NJ and Thomas of Wilkes Barre. Three grandchildren Keith, Joshua and his wife Morgan, and Johnathan. A brother in law Ray Wonsidler and his wife Elizabeth of Allentown. Nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a sister Florence and two granddaughters Elizabeth and Grace. Services will be held on March 1, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. in the C. R. Strunk Funeral Home, Inc. (www.crstrunk.com) 821 W. Broad St. Quakertown. Call 10:00-11:00 A.M. in the funeral home.
