Edward J. Young

Edward J. Young, 93 of Spinnerstown died Tuesday December 5, 2017 in Quakertown Center. He was the husband of Theresa M. (Jones) Young. They celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary on August 26, 2017. Born in Hatfield, MA., he was the son of the late William J. and Delia (Godin) Young and the step son of the late Elaine (Heuckeroth) Young. A carpenter by trade he was last employed by the former K&L Lumber in Quakertown, prior to that, he was a self-employed carpenter. Edward was a faithful member of St. Isidores Catholic Church in Quakertown. He was also a member of the Men of Malvern Retreat League. He enjoyed bowling and was a former secretary of the Quakertown Classic Bowling League. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy during WWII. In addition to his wife he is survived by two daughters Diane Wynkoop husband Robert of Quakertown and Karen Rhoades husband Michael of Spinnerstown. Two sisters Dorothy Hippeli of Quakertown and Mary Lamparter of Hartford, NY. Three grandchildren Michele ODonnell husband Dave of Quakertown, Dr. Marcie DiPaulo husband Marc of Media and Jason Rhoades wife Katie of Quakertown. Five great grandchildren Kaleigh, Bella, Colin, Carla and Emily. He was predeceased by two brothers Robert and Arthur and a sister Frances Heuckeroth. A mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday December 11, 2017 at St. Isidore Catholic Church 2545 West Pumping Station Rd. Quakertown PA 18951. Call from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the church.
