Douglas "Dean" Smith, Quakertown, died Tuesday, November 24th at St. Luke's Hospital in Bethlehem. He was 64. He was the husband of Colletta (Deveau) Smith. Born in Charles City, Iowa, he was the son of the late Edward and D. Corrine (Miller) Smith. Dean worked as a lithographer for Brown Printing in East Greenville. He proudly served with the United States Marine Corps on active duty during the Vietnam War. His happiest times were spent surrounded by his family and countless friends. Most of all, he cherished the moments spent with his three grandchildren - Rachel, Hayden, and Caroline. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter Shannon Miller and her husband Jeffery of Quakertown; a son Cole and his wife Kari Anne of Mechanicsburg; two sisters - Joy and her husband Richard Martsching, and Cheryle Smith; a brother in law Roland Deveau and his wife Vickie; and his three grandchildren. Services will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, November 30th at Morningstar Fellowship of Quakertown, 610 South Main Street. A viewing will be held from 9:30AM until 11:00AM. Arrangements are in the care of C.R. Strunk Funeral Home (www.crstrunk.com), Quakertown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke's Grateful Patient Fund, St. Luke's Development Department, 801 Ostrum Street, Bethlehem, PA 18015.
