Dorothy V. Lechowicz, 89, of Quakertown, formerly of Shenandoah Heights, died February 7, 2013, in Grand View Hospital, Sellersville. She was the wife of the late Edmund Lechowicz, who died in 2003. Born in Shenandoah, PA, she was the daughter of the late William & Adele (Garulis) Lewsick. Dorothy graduated from Shenandoah High School in 1941 and was a 1945 graduate of Ashland State Hospital School of Nursing. She was a Registered Nurse for the former Locust Mountain State Hospital in Shenandoah Heights and retired in 1978. Dorothy was a former member of the Catholic Nurses Guild, where she served as Treasurer for many years, and was also a volunteer at the American Red Cross blood drives. She was a member of St. Isidore's Catholic Church in Quakertown. Dorothy enjoyed going to the theatre, sewing and crocheting, and was devoted to her family. Her greatest joy in her later life were her three great - grandchildren and family pet schnauzer, Zoe. She is survived by a daughter Elaine A. Taylor (Robert) of Quakertown. Two grandchildren James C. Taylor (Stacey) of State College, and Wendy T. Sergi (Philip) of Quakertown. Three great grandchildren Paisley & Nikolas Taylor and Sarah Sergi. Predeceased by a brother Leonard Lewsick. A mass will be held on February 12, 2013 at 12:30 P.M. at St. Isidore's Catholic Church 2545 W. Pumping Station Rd. Quakertown, PA 18951, with a Calling Hour from 11:30 A.M.-12:30 P.M. Arrangements made by the C. R. Strunk Funeral Home, Inc. (www.crstrunk.com) Quakertown.
