Doris Shelly Sommer

Doris Shelly Sommer, 84, of Milford Township died October 11, 2013 in Phoebe Richland Health Care Center, Richlandtown. She was the wife of the late Alexander Walter Sommer. Born in Allentown she was the daughter of the late Clarence & Linda (Lund) Shelly. Doris was a 1946 graduate of Quakertown High School and a 1949 graduate of Grand View Nursing School. She was a registered nurse before retiring. She was a member of the ladies of the Grundsow Lodge. She enjoyed feeding and watching birds and spoiling her grandchildren. She is survived by a son Andre J. Sommer (Joan) of Oxford, Ohio, two daughters Linda M. Westgate (Jim) and Erika Sommer-Gagliano (Gregory) all of Quakertown. Six grandchildren James (Sarah), Steven (Rachel), Scott, Alexandra, Patrick, and Christian. One great granddaughter Ashley. She was predeceased by a brother Clarence W. Shelly, and a granddaughter Shelly. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are being handled by the C. R. Strunk Funeral Home, Inc. (www.crstrunk.com) Quakertown.
