Dewey L. Sneed, Sr. 86, of Quakertown, formerly of Mt. Pocono, died May 25, 2011 in St. Luke's Hospital, Bethlehem. He was the husband of Athanesia 'Joan' (Paras) Sneed and the late Joyce Anne (Cooley) Sneed. Born in Logan, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Leslie & Lona (Lilly) Snead. He was a supervisor for J.D. Morrissey & Co. before retiring. Dewey was a member of the Laborers' International Union of North America. He also enjoyed golf. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during WWII. In addition to his wife he is survived by two daughters, Delores and Brenda, two sons, Dewey L., JR., and Johny , a step-son, Jack, several grandchildren and great grandchildren a close niece, Pastor Dotsie, and many other nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by four brothers, Don, Delbert, Dallas, and Delmer, a sister, Dotsie. He was also predeceased by his ex-wife Louella May (Oney) Sneed. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2011, at 11:00 am. in the C. R. Strunk Funeral Home, Inc. (www.crstrunk.com) 821 W. Broad St. Quakertown. Call 10:30-11:00 am in the funeral home.
