Catharine Hackman (Moyer) Whaland, Quakertown, died July 4th in the Hospice House of the VNA of St. Luke's Bethlehem. She was 95 years old. She was the wife of the late Charles W. Whaland II. Born in Sellersville, she was the daughter of the late Clayton & Catharine (Hackman) Moyer. Prior to her retirement, Catherine worked for the former Prize Potato Chip Factory in Quakertown. Catharine enjoyed time spent with her family and watching the birds and deer that visited her backyard. She is survived by a son Charles and a daughter Carol; five grandsons and their wives: Daniel and Carol, Todd and Christine, Brent and Tracy, Seth, and Aaron and Jasmine; two great grandchildren: Daniel and Connor; and a son-in-law: Herb Shelly. She was predeceased by five brothers and six sisters. Services will be held on July 9, 2010 at 10:30 A.M. in the C. R. Strunk Funeral Home, Inc. (www.crstrunk.com) 821 W.
