Beatrice E. "Liss" Erney, 85 of Quakertown formerly of Zion Hill died Friday March 25, 2011 in Genesis HealthCare Quakertown Center. She was the wife of the late Leroy O. Erney. Born in Bethlehem she was the daughter of the late Harry "Hap" and Cecilia (Kehs) Arnold. She attended and taught Sunday School at Locust Valley Chapel in Coopersburg and enjoyed listening to old time hymns and music. Liss enjoyed baking and canning produce from her garden she shared with her late husband and then giving the bake goods and canned foods to others. The oldest of twelve children she was known as the second mom to her brothers and sisters and continued the love and joy of babysitting for family and friends. She is survived by a son Ron and his wife Annie of Quakertown and a daughter Karen Bonstingl and her husband Tom of Coopersburg. Three grandchildren Tammy Hendricks, Jason Bonstingl and Jackie Bonstingl. Four great grandchildren Meghan, Erin, Marek and Xandra. Two brothers Leonard of Allentown and Richard of Bethlehem three sisters Jean Cambiotti, Gerty Steinbach and Jane Lenner all of Bethlehem. She was predeceased by sisters Dorothy, Kathryn, Evelyn and Joan and two infant brothers. Services will be held on Thursday March 31, at 11:00 a.m. in the C. R. Strunk Funeral Home, Inc. (www.crstrunk.com) 821 W. Broad St. Quakertown PA 18951. Calling hours will be held Wednesday evening March 30, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
