Barry J. Knode

Barry J. Knode, 65, of Quakertown died October 22, 2016 in St. Lukes University Hospital, Bethlehem. He was the husband of Sharon R. (Kemmerer) Knode. They were married 34 years on September 3, 2016. Born in Pulaski, VA he was the son of the late James R. & Audrey F. (Chandler) Knode. He was last employed by Knauss Meats in Quakertown, after a long career at the former Hi-Line Storage Systems in Perkasie. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Vietnam War. Barry enjoyed and was very proud of his gardening donating his crop to the Quakertown Food Bank. He also enjoyed rewarding his family by canning his crop for the winter and was a member of the Community Gardening at Quakertown United Methodist Church. In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter Rachael M. Brookins (Donald G.) of Lansdale. A sister Elaine Sipes (Kenneth) of Perkasie. Several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 28, 2016 at 4:00 P.M. at the C. R. Strunk Funeral Home, Inc. (www.crstrunk.com) 821 W. Broad St. Quakertown, PA 18951.
