Barbara Susan Peters

Barbara S. Peters of Horsham, Pa. passed away on Monday, August 1, 2016 after a nearly seven-year battle with colon cancer. She was 57. She is survived by her husband, Craig K. Peters; her daughter, Alexandra B. Adams and Alexandras husband Charles; and her son, Kyle C. Peters. Born and raised in Garden City, NY, to James and Dorothy Alnwick, Barbara attended DYouville College in Buffalo, NY, where she received her RN-BSN nursing degree. She and Craig married in 1985 and lived on Long Island, where she was a Registered Nurse specializing in oncology and hospice care, before moving to Horsham in 1993. Barbara was seldom happier than when surrounded by family and friends all the better if the gathering were taking place at the beach. She particularly loved the waters of Jones Beach, Noyac, Sag Harbor, Shelter Island, Avalon and Sea Isle, and considered the day perfect when it could be capped off by tearing into a fresh lobster dinner. Barbara is also survived by her father, James Alnwick; her three brothers, James, Timothy and Peter; her nieces Ashley, Jamie, Brooke (her Goddaughter) and Sara; and her nephews Sean (her Godson), Alexander, Jack, Joseph, and Keith. A Mass will be held on Friday, August 5, 2016 at 10:30 A.M. in St. Josephs Church 1795 Columbia Ave. Warrington, PA 18976. A viewing will be held on Thursday, August 4, 2016 from 3:00-5:00 P.M. and 6:00-8:00 P.M. in the Schneider Funeral Home 431 N. York Rd. Hatboro, Pa 19040. Arrangements are in the care of the C. R. Strunk Funeral Home, Inc. (www.crstrunk.com) Quakertown. Barbara will be laid to rest at Whitemarsh Memorial Park in Ambler, Pa.
