Barbara A. Niemy, Quakertown, died December 1, 2009 at home. She was 75. Born in Lebanon, she was the daughter of the late Frederick Wolf & Helen (Straub) Jackson. Barbara was a graduate of St. Luke's Bethlehem School of Nursing and East Stroudsburg University, where she received her bachelor's degree in nursing. She went on to study at Kutztown University where she earned a masters degree in guidance and counseling. Barbara retired from the Central Bucks School District after working as a school nurse for 29 years. She was a member of St. Isidore's Catholic Church in Quakertown. She is survived by two daughters - Yolanda Schroy and Donna Chookagian and her husband Frank; a brother - Frederick Wolf; six grandchildren - Jeffrey Taft, Cristin Bortzman, Bradley and Christopher Schroy and Frank and Katlyn Chookagian. She was predeceased by a daughter Carla Taft in 2000. A Mass will be held on Monday, December 7th at 10:00 A.M. at St. Isidore's Catholic Church 2545 W. Pumping Station Road, Quakertown. A viewing will be held Sunday evening December 6th from 7:00-8:30 P.M. in the C. R. Strunk Funeral Home, Inc. (www.crstrunk.com) 821 W. Broad Street, Quakertown, and Monday December 7th from 9:00-10:00 A.M. in the church. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke's School of Nursing - 915 Ostrum St. Bethlehem, PA 18015.
