Arthur E. Hoffman, 85, formerly of Kirkwood, MO died Sunday, March 3, 2013 in his home in Quakertown, PA. He was the husband of the late Carol-Jean (Veneziani) Hoffman. Born in Queens, NY he was the son of the late Arthur A. & Helen (McElearny) Hoffman. Arthur was a graduate Polytechnic University & graduated Magnum Cum Laude from Western New England College School of Law. He was Senior Patent Council at Monsanto Co., before retiring in 1989. He was a member of the Missouri & St. Louis Bar Associations, the American Intellectual Property Law Association, the Inventors Association of St. Louis, & a volunteer attorney with SCORE. He served as a board member of the following: Salvation Army of St. Louis, St. Louis Chapter Freedom Foundation at Valley Forge, St. John's Mercy Hospital Hospice, and the Catholic Charities Roman Catholic Orphan Board. He was a former member & on parish council of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Kirkwood. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #2117. Arthur served as a medic in the U.S. Navy during WW II. Survived by a son Arthur L., and a daughter Lou-Ellen Renshaw, brother Kenneth, eight grandchildren four great grandchildren. Predeceased by a daughter Julia-Ann Strobel. Services were held in the care of the C. R. Strunk Funeral Home, Inc. (www.crstrunk.com).
