Alfred E. Mauro, 73, a long time resident of Quakertown formerly of Philadelphia died Thursday, November 17, 2005 in St. Luke's Quakertown Hospital. He was the husband of Susan (Jordan) Mauro. Born in Philadelphia he was the son of the late Ralph & Marie (Baldino) Mauro. He was an international operating engineer for Geppert Brothers in Chalfont and Henkels & McCoy in Blue Bell before retiring. He was a member of St. Isidore's Catholic Church in Quakertown where he sang in the choir and was on the finance committee. He was a member of the Quakertown Moose and the VFW Post 242 in Sellersville. Alfred also sang with the Quakertown Community Singers and the U.C.C. Festival Choir. He was also a member of the Back of the Bus travel group. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving during the Korean War on the USS Cotten. In addition to his wife he is survived by 5 sons Fred R. and his wife Judy, John G. and his wife Angel, Joseph G. and his wife Karen, Peter Lewis and Glen Lewis. A daughter Hope E. wife of Charles Hinkle. A niece Denise Crooks and a nephew James Hutchinson. 11 grandchildren, and Benny. He was predeceased by a sister Clairita. A mass will be held on Monday, November 21, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Isidore's Catholic Church (new church) 2545 West Pumping Station Rd. Quakertown. Call Sunday evening 7:00-9:00 P.M. in the C. R.
