Albert (Al) C. Krempa, Jr. was born in New Haven, CT. on January 17, 1945, died Saturday, January 30, 2016, in Port St. Lucie, FL following his courageous 21 year battle with leukemia. He leaves his wife, Barbara, of 50 years; his son, A. Charles (Chip) Krempa, III, wife Katie and daughters, Alayna, Olivia and Ella; son William T. (Bill) Krempa, wife Mary and sons William (TK) and Wallace; and daughter Laura Johnson, husband Todd and sons Broderick (Brody) and Reed, and other relatives and many close friends. Raised in Drexel Hill, PA, the son of Albert C. and Marye B. Krempa, he was a long time resident of Chalfont and Plumsteadville. After graduating from Monsignor Bonner High School in 1962 he attended The University of Dayton, graduating in 1966 with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration. There he met his wife, Barb, in classes and they were married in 1965 at Corpus Christie Catholic Church in Dayton, OH. Moving back to the Philadelphia area in 1966 Al worked in management until in 1971, when he had the opportunity to join the Equitable of Iowa Insurance Company. In 1973 the family moved to Chalfont where Al started an independent financial services firm. Earning professional credentials including CLU, ChFC and CFS his insurance and financial services firm prospered. He took pride in serving his clients, but truly relished the friends he made during his time in business. His two sons followed him into the business, merging three separate practices in 1994 and now continue the firm of Krempa Associates, Inc. Dedicated to his Roman Catholic faith, most recently Al was a Lector at The National Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa in Doylestown, PA where he served faithfully for the past 18 years. Previous to volunteering at Czestochowa he and Barb were very active members of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel and for more than 22 years served as Eucharistic ministers, CCD teachers, Pre-Cana counselors, and bringing Communion to the shut-ins at Pine Run Community Health Center. Other associations close to Als heart included: The Boys Scouts of America, serving on the Bucks County Council's Board and Golf Outing Chairman, for which he was awarded the Silver Beaver Award. Al enjoyed golf and bike riding. For many years he and his sons participated in the American Cancer Society ride from Philadelphia to the Shore raising donations for the fight against cancer. He was a founding member of The Franklin Rockers, a Questers Chapter, and with his wife, enjoyed The Rythmic Society and The Cosmopolitans, ballroom dance groups. Both Al and Barb loved to travel. Starting in the early 70s with a camper, their family would take long trips around the US and Canada stopping in many National Parks. As empty nesters, they enjoyed cruises and tours and delighted in visiting over 35 countries as well as most of the islands in the Caribbean and Mediterranean. A visitation will be held on Friday, February 12th from 10:30am-12:30pm followed by a Celebration of Life Mass at The National Shrine of Czestochowa, St. Annes Chapel (upstairs).
