Frank R. Prusch, Jr.

Frank R. Prusch, Jr., 80 of Quakertown died Friday January 27, 2017, in St. Lukes Hospice House. He was the husband of Nancy R. (Rhoades) Prusch. They celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary last August. Born in Duryea, PA, he was the son of the late Frank R., Sr. and Lydia (Moss) Prusch. Frank was a biology teacher at the Quakertown Community High School before his retirement. He also was the head football coach at Quakertown before continuing his coaching career at Moravian College and then Palisades High School. He also spent time at The United States Naval Academy, working within their football program. He enjoyed traveling, golf, tennis and most recently pickle ball. He was a U.S. Marine Corp. veteran. Frank also was a member of the Quakertown United Methodist Church where he served on various committees. In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons David and his partner Michael Conkey of Claremont, CA and Todd and his wife Trish of Quakertown, three grandchildren, Jacob, Jason and Jeffrey, and a sister Mae Pakutka and her husband Ronald of Vestal, NY. He was predeceased by a sister Rose Lazevnick and an infant sister Sandra. Calling hours will be Wednesday, February 1, from 6:30-9:00 p.m. at the Quakertown United Methodist Church, 1875 Freier Rd. Quakertown PA 18951. The family will hold additional calling hours at the church from 9:30-11:00 am on Thursday, February 2, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. The C. R. Strunk Funeral Home, Inc. (www.crstrunk.com) is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers contributions be made to the Church or to the American Cancer Society.
