Dorothy M. Spangler, 78, of Quakertown passed away Monday, January 3, 2005 in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Lee L. Spangler, Jr. They were married 55 years last June. Born in Allentown she was the daughter of the late Aurel J. & Marion R. (Stahler) Moyer. She worked in the operating suites as a RNCNOR at Quakertown Community Hospital before retiring. Prior to that she worked at Reading Hospital. She was a graduate of the Reading Hospital School of Nursing and a Nightingale member of the Reading Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association. She was a life member of the Lieutanant Matthew Smith Chapter of the National Society, Daughters of the American Revolution, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 242, a sponsoring member of the USO and the National Flag Foundation. She was also a member of the Quakertown Historical Society and AARP. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Quakertown. In addition to her husband she is survived by two sons Robert E. and his wife Frances of Alemeda, California and Thomas L. and his wife Lynn Lomas of Atlanta, Georgia. A daughter Jane M. wife of Arthur L. Loch of Quakertown. A sister Gladys wife of Leo Musante of Milford, Connecticut. A step-sister Blanche wife of Robert Pagel of Pleasant Valley. 5grandchildren Angela Spangler, Melvina Spangler, Nicholas Spangler-Loch, Zachary Loch and Renee Kebort. 2 great grandchildren Justina Spangler-Loch and Elise Spangler-Loch. Services will be held on Friday, January 7, 2005 at 10:30 A.M. at St. John's Lutheran Church 19 S. 10th St. Quakertown. Call Thursday evening 7:00-8:30 P.M. in the C. R. Strunk Funeral Home, Inc. 821 W. Broad St. Quakertown and Friday 9:30-10:30 A.M. in the church. Interment will be at Charles Evans Cemetery, Reading, PA. Followed by refreshments at St. John's church at 2:30 P.M.
